environment

The origins of equa™  are rooted in respect for the geographic region and the communities surrounding the source.

equa™ is dedicated to future sustainability by:

  • Maintaining a protected ecological zone around the water’s source, for this, equa™ was granted full mineral rights to the spring by the Brazilian National Department of Mineral Research Federal Government
  • Ensuring our bottling presence occupies the smallest possible footprint (constructed near existing infrastructure, equa™uses only .003% of total 100 hectares/247 acre property of a total of 1500 hectares/3700 acres)
  • Relying solely on hydro-electric power, The expectation of equa™ is to operate with a net neutral to negative carbon footprint (currently undergoing auditing)
  • Offering grants to help fund programs in support of local healthcare and education and creating viable employment opportunities for the surrounding communities

The Bottle
Stunning and sustainable packaging – equa™ commissioned the internationally recognized London-based design duo of Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby to create a beautiful and friendly water bottle that would evoke the harmony and symmetry of nature and look as comfortable on a white linen covered table as in a students backpack.

Equa™ pledges to support and apply the use of the most environmentally friendly, and innovative products available, including utilizing recycled content in all its packaging, when appropriate.

As the water bottle is fully recyclable, equa™ encourages participation in recycling programs wherever available.
