As rainwater falls upon the dense canopy of this tropical wilderness, it nurtures millions of different species of plants within this, the world’s most unique ecosystem. This rain water is filtered first by the jungle’s dense vegetation and then by the thin layer of soil from which they grow. It seeps further underground passing over and through subterranean micro-fissures made of granite, known as the Guiana Shield.
